Clicksav Device Overall Functionality in Two Typical HVAC Systems

1) For conventional (normal) HVAC systems:
The compressor and fan always work together during cooling mode in conventional (normal) HVAC systems under electric or gas settings. If the compressor is ON, the fan that ventilates cool air from the system to the target area of the building will also be ON. During cooling mode, Clicksav is able to turn OFF the compressor and let the fan continue running (stay ON). It can turn both of these OFF as well.
Clicksav is able to prevent both the compressor and fan from turning back ON during a certain amount of time. It may control compressor rest during resets, and fan status after a call for cooling is no longer applicable.

Typically a heater and a fan work together during heating mode, without the use of the compressor, in Conventional (normal) HVAC systems under electric settings. If the heater is ON, the fan that ventilates warm air from the system to the target area of the building will also be ON.
During heating mode, Clicksav does not turn OFF the heater or the fan. It only monitors the fan.

Conventional (normal) HVAC systems under gas settings, will have a furnace, blower, boiler, or any variation of heating system involving gaseous sources used to provide heat. Often these system will have their own fan and other components that are not shared with the rest of the HVAC system.

2) For heat-pump HVAC systems:
The compressor and fan always work together during cooling mode in heat-pump HVAC systems under electric or gas settings. If the compressor is ON, the fan that ventilates cool air from the system to the target area of the building will also be ON. During cooling mode, Clicksav is able to turn OFF the compressor and let the fan continue running (stay ON). It can turn both of these OFF as well.
Clicksav is able to prevent both the compressor and fan from turning back ON during a certain amount of time. It may control compressor rest during resets, and fan status after a call for cooling is no longer applicable.

If the heater is ON, the fan that ventilates warm air from the system to the target area of the building will also be ON. During heating mode, Clicksav behaves the same way as in cooling mode.

Heat-pump HVAC systems under gas settings, will have a furnace, blower, boiler, or any variation of heating system involving gaseous sources used to provide heat. Often these system will have their own fan and other components that are not shared with the rest of the HVAC system. Clicksav will determine whether not to interfere under gas settings. As direct connection and signal sensing cannot be established with the heater source. Usually these sources are second stage.

Note: In some thermostats the heater or compressor may be turned OFF and only a main fan can be used (turned ON). In this case, the fan is still able to be controlled by Clicksav.
